BROKEN BUT NOT DEAD: Book Launch

The book launch for my thriller Broken but not Dead at Books & Company was a huge success. They sold 30 copies! Thank you, everyone, for making it a very special day.

Selena and Reece attend Grandma Joylene's book launch, July 16, 2011

I'll post more on the launch next week. Meanwhile this week's being spent moving great-grandma Vera's things out of her apartment and preparing for her memorial on Saturday, July 23. If you're hoping to attend, it's at 1 PM in the basement of the Eagles on Dagg Road.

Hey now, I think an initial sales of 30 books is a good start. Good on ya.

Hi Anthony. I was happy with 30. I'm not sure but I think there were less than 30 people. Turned out to be a nice day, the first in 5 weeks, so I think a lot of people went to the lake. But that's okay.

WooHoo! So glad it went so well. Wonderful to see those grandkids. Thinking of you as you deal with the sadness and turmoil of losing Vera.

Thanks dear friend. It was a lovely, lovely day, in so many ways. But I do think the next one should be in the fall or around Christmas. Just about everyone I talked to, gave their condolences and said they'd be on holidays the entire week. Quite a few are coming home so they can attend Vera's memorial on Saturday. That's nice.

A wonderful photo and congrats on your launch.

Thanks, Shopgirl. And soon life will be back to normal. Whatever that means.

It's great hearing about your launch and how things went in the various locations, and lovely to see your grandkids. Congrats on the good books sales, too! I've just finished reading my copy and can vouch for it being a terrific read. Bob's got his hands on it now. :)

Your book will be taking a back seat to other priorities this week. We're keeping you in our prayers.

Thank you, Carol. I'm looking forward to hearing what you thought of Brendell. She's been sort of a comfort this week. Strange, eh? My best to Bob and you.

Congratulations on a great book signing, Joylene. (And on a great pic of you and the grands!) I just bought "Broken but not Dead" from Theytus Books online. Can't wait to read it.

I think blogger swallowed my comment. That was awesome that you sold 30 books! And your grandkind are beautiful...lovely blue eyes. :)

Joylene Butler said...

Thank you, Laila. They were so well behaved and didn't once complain about nothing to do. We went to Boston Pizza afterward to celebrate, and they ate all their food. LOL. Amazing kids.

Congrats Joylene! What a great way to celebrate, with the grandkids! They look super sweet. :)

Joylene Butler said...

Thank you, Karen. I know all grandmas say the same thing, but honestly, Selena and Reece really are super sweet! LOL Honestly.

Super picture. Congratulations on the book. Sales seem to be doing great!

My condolences for Vera. My prayers are with your family. What a time of up and down emotions for you right now.

Joylene Butler said...

Thanks, Amanda. You're right, I feeling... not sure exactly, which is odd because I'm a writer so I should know. Lol. Oh well.

Thirty copies! How fantastic is that? Congratulations! You rock!

Thanks, Carol. The neat thing was they apologized to me for having it at the wrong time of year, and on the only day the sun shone. We've been getting nothing but rain every day except during the launch.

Hi Joylene .. 30 copies - that's amazing and I've emailed you about one more .. but no hurry - when you can ..

Vera comes first - my thoughts will be with you for Saturday - I hope the sun shines for her Memorial Day ..

With many happy memories and some laughter surrounding the tinge of sadness ... Hilary

Thank you very much, Hilary. Yes, I'll relax once we get the eulogy done. Not sure why it's stressing me out. I'll also find out how to ship one of my books to the UK.

Thanks again.
