WINTER: Beauty and Danger

Our dear grandchildren live an hour away. Yesterday their area was without power for the day. Then the winds came. Last night a tree fell, hit the lines going into the house, ripped them off the siding, and split the power pole in half. BC Hydro restored power to the area, but not for our grandchildren; they'll be without power until 6:30 tonight. The current temperature is -13 Celsius. Tonight the low will be -18.

Please join me in believing that Karen, Jenna, Selena, and Reece, will be toasty warm all day and that power will be restored in no time.

Meanwhile Fluffy is sending good thoughts too.

  2. Brrr! Here's wishing them a roaring fire (I'd lend them one of mine if I could), cozy sweaters and blankets, lots of blankets... Fluffy has the right idea.

Beautiful views you have there, Joylene. And what a lot of difference a week makes.

  3. Hi Joylene,
I've been told about the awful cold and windy weather that you have been experiencing.
Here's hoping that your grandchildren have a nice, warm and peaceful night.
    Warm wishes, your way, Gary:-)

  4. Hi Carol. I'm waiting to hear from our son as to whether they have power yet. Little ones are pretty tough about this type of thing. They can entertain themselves. The teenager is missing the computer.

Yes, isn't the weather amazing. The ice looks as if it's freezing tonight. We'll see what happens by morning.

Ol' Fluffy is looking mighty cozy and warm! And smug! LOL.

  7. Carol, it's even colder this morning. I didn't want to get out from beneath my duvet. Fluffy went outside, brave soul. Checked out the shop, found no food, and quickly came back inside. And people says cats are dumb. LOL

  9. Yes, their power was hooked up last night, but they're still without a phone. You can borrow Fluffy any time. He's wonderful to cuddle up to. We have three more where he came from.

  11. Thank you, Carole. We're eating pizza in front of a roaring fire this evening. Doesn't get much better than that. Have a wonderful weekend.
