DEAD WITNESS e-books available at SMASHWORDS

I can't remember who, but somebody once wrote that nothing compares to your first book deal. Once you hold your novel in your hands, nothing as exciting will ever happen again....

That's like saying the birth of number two child isn't nearly as miraculous as number one child, so why bother sending out announcements?

That's just silly.

It's also the reason I'm thrilled to announce that Dead Witness's e-book version is now available at Smashwords. Even with two novels published, this news has put a huge smile on my otherwise bland expression. (I'm kidding. Lots of things put a smile on my face. Like the fact that grandson Reese just spent 2 days with us, and now it's his sister Selena's turn. The world is a glorious place through the eyes of a child.)

So, don't be surprised if every single time a new site exhibits my e-book, I announce the good news here. Who better to share this with than my writing community.

Oh, and before I forget, if you're near the city of (my birthplace) Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Jan. 6th, stop by their public library around 6:30 PM and say hi. I'll be there reading from my novels and sharing a little of my publishing history.  Yes, I'm going home to share the good news.

Happy New Year, everyone.

FBI’s “dead witness” defies their authority and goes after the man they’re hunting when he threatens her children.

  1. How exciting! Best of luck with Smashwords, and I'm so glad you're getting to spend some time with the grandkids this holiday season. :)

  2. Thank you, Carrie. I will. I'm visiting my aunt in Portage, then off to Oromocto, NB on the 11th. Can't wait!

Hope your New Years is wonderful.

  3. Hey Joylene,
This is awesome news and the fact you have a smile on your face has given me a smile on my shy, humble and unassuming face.
Sorry I cannot make it to Portage la Prairie on January 6th. I reckon the line-up for those wishing to see you will stretch from inside the library, outside the library, down to Dick's Cafe, east onto the Trans-Canada Highway and all the way to downtown Winnipeg :)
Well done Joylene and seriously, you have my utmost admiration for your dedication and determination.
With respect and kind wishes, your way, Gary

  4. Actually, Gary, it's called Jane's Cafe now.

I'm visiting my dearest aunt Joyce, to whom I was named. I'm her favourite niece. I know because every time I ask, "Aunt Joyce, am I your favourite niece?" she always nods and says, "Of course."

And everybody knows nice aunts from Portage la Prairie never lie.

  5. Good for you Joylene.
We wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.

  6. I so want to buy Dead Witness, the first one for my tablet and Kindle app. It's at the very top of my list, once I get a little dough in the bank! That's always my problem. I've never read an e-book before. I'm such a Luddite. But with the genre and the setting, it sounds right up my alley. And I have the utmost respect for you as a writer. (Hey, do you ever critique or beta read? If so, I'd love to talk to you sometime.)

Anyway, I hope 2012 brings you great happiness and health! I'm so very glad I met you!
