Breakup on Cluculz Lake, BC

Folks, I'm shocked to reveal that Cluculz Lake is still covered in ice. I was so sure it would be off by today. Goes to show what I know. The closest guess will win a copy of my suspense thriller Broken But Not Dead. I'll be sure and let you know when that happens. Here's a recap of April.

  1. Hmm...

Will I be disqualified if I come up there with a hair dryer? ;)

    1. Carrie, don't cross yourself off the list yet. A lot can melt in 2 days. My son is biting at the bit to get his boat in the water, so maybe he'll bring out the blow torch.

    1. Hi Karen. I am having a good day. Working in the basement, cleaning, organizing. I know that may not sound like fun, but I like being organized. Okay--if truth be known, I'm in the basement because the Black Forest Cake is in the kitchen!

I'll guess this Sat. April 28th. That's my twins' birthday, so it'll be a lucky day. :)

  6. Just when you think you can bring out the lawn chairs and enjoy a bit of sun on the deck, the weather falls apart again. Have you ever had to cut a hole in the ice to go swimming in the summer there? Maybe this year?

    1. Carol! I can't believe you said that. No, we've never cut a hole in the ice to go swimming in the summer. LOL.

  7. It's so hard to imagine such cold temps, as it's in the 80's here daily. But the lake is so beautiful, and I love seeing your photos of it!

    1. A friend of mine in near Penn State woke to 3" of snow on the ground a few days ago. Now that's cold. We're getting warmer, but it's no Mexico, that's for sure. Ah, the joys of living in the north.

  8. Hi Joylene! Sending birthday wishes your way. I've got 2 more days for it to melt. Maybe I should make the long drive up and bring along a torch, to give it a little helping hand, LOL. Good luck to everyone on your guesses.

  12. Hey Joylene,
Oops, happy belated birthday, young lady. Must be kind of neat to know, if you so desired, that you are now legally old enough to consume alcoholic beverages.
Is that some Canucks hockey players I see off in the distance on the lake.....and no worries, all the ice will be gone by July 1st eh!
Take care, your starstruck fan, Gary
