Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

I'm at Caffe Maggieato's blog today being interviewed about my newest book Break Time, an anthology collaboration. We're discussing other stuff as well. Hope you can stop by. Maggie's blog is in a word: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Or for my younger readers: kewl.

smoke-filled scenery

Too often we take for granted the quality of the air we breathe. Today I'd also like to pay homage to the fire fighters who risk their lives fighting forest fires every day in our area, our province and across North America. Thank you for your outstanding service.

Later today I'm taking up the ALS ice-bucket challenge my son gave me and performing my pledge and donation. Upon request, photos will be available. (humph, such mistrust!)

  2. No mistrust whatsoever... but looking forward to the photos. (And don't bother to challenge me in return; I've already donated.) :)

I'm with you when it comes to thankfulness and praise for firefighters. A small amount of smoke drifted our way while we were at the cabin at the end of July, and settled in the valleys across the lake, but most days the breeze carried it away.

    1. I was visiting with another neighbour and they live in India during the winter. The quality of smoke this August is something they live with daily over there. Counting my blessings.

    1. Hilary, it's actually smoke from all the forest fires. Not good to breath.

  8. Fires are our biggest threat here, too. I've had those smoky walls before and they aren't something to take lightly. I agree. Firefighters are the best. Be safe!

So sorry about the fires. A scary threat for a variety of reasons. Thank goodness for firefighters.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! I love the song! I always teach it to my junior learners/choir.
(Thanks for that thought-provoking comment over at the IWSG website.)

  12. Ugh. That smoke is rough. We've had some smoke in our area too and my poor son (just under 1 year) struggles to breathe through it. I am very thankful for our fire fighters who risk their lives.

  13. We don't really have to deal with forest fires here, but that seems really scary!
