IWSG: Book Release

It’s time for another group posting of the IWSG: Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month and encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

The awesome co-hosts today are:

Jen Chandler, Mary Aalgaard, Lisa Buie Collard, Tamara Narayan, Tyrean Martinson, Christine Rains, and me!

Please stop by and thank my other co-hosts for their time and effort. Thanks.

I'm feeling very insecure and have been for over a month. Why? It's not as if I'm suffering from one more rejection letter. I'm not! I have a new novel out, and I'm thrilled; yet, here I sit feeling insecure.

I know you understand why. I'm presenting my newest baby to the world, and I'm worried that you won't like her. I fear that those of you who like me won't admit that you find her a bad read. Honestly, that's even worse than some stranger leaving a negative review. I can live with that. But can I live with my friends lying to protect my feelings?

What am I saying?! My publisher likes my new baby. My publicist likes her. I LIKE HER! What is wrong with me!?

To those who find the synopsis interesting and the cover fascinating and maybe are thinking, "I should buy this book" --in the words of author Roland Yeomandon't buy this book! You'll like it, then you'll have to read the prequel, and then my first novel, and before you know it, you'll leave an awesome review, and I'll end up thinking you don't mean it; you're just being kind! Heck--I already feel sick!

I could rant on, but you have blogs to visit, so I won't keep you. Before you go, let me announce publicly how happy I am that my novel has a home and is released on my granddaughter's 3rd birthday; which is obviously a good thing.

Thank you to my husband, my best friend, and my family for loving me despite my writer's psychosis.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A murder enveloped in pain and mystery…
Book CoverWhen Canada’s retired Minister of National Defense, Leland Warner, is murdered in his home, the case is handed to Corporal Danny Killian, an aboriginal man tortured by his wife’s unsolved murder.
The suspect, 60-year-old Sally Warner, still grieves for the loss of her two sons, dead in a suicide/murder eighteen months earlier. Confused and damaged, she sees in Corporal Killian a friend sympathetic to her grief and suffering and wants more than anything to trust him.
Danny finds himself with a difficult choice—indict his prime suspect, the dead minister’s horribly abused wife or find a way to protect her and risk demotion. Or worse, transfer away from the scene of his wife’s murder and the guilt that haunts him…
